Our go to dish is the Pad Thai. AMAZING
My pad Thai tasted like bananas. Clean your pans man. Or woks or whatever the hell you use. I know you use bananas for some dishes, dont mess it all up for my pad Thai. Anyways service was nice, quick.
Good food, speedy service, will be back
Pleasantly surprised of how great everything was here. Not only was the food top notch, the staff are very friendly people. The coconut soup was amazing and the beef drunken noodles were to die for! This is definitely my new Thai place
drunken noodles was sooooo good I had with beef and 5 for the heat pad Thai also banging at a 3 heat . Tom kha guy soup (coconut milk lime chicken) best ever. hot and sour on point
We had lunch to go. However picked it up The atmosphere was nice, the employees were nice. From the time of order to the time we got the food was fairly quick about 15 minutes. I got three flavor fish, and my wife got chicken pad Thai, and I got hot and sour seafood soup. My wifes was one in spicy from 1 to 10 and I got 5 in the range of 5 to 10. Over all the food was good, couldve been more flavorful, I dont think mine was really a 5 in spicy level, Ill change it to a 7 next time. I would still go back and try other items though. Overall it was pretty good.
Absolutely loved the food! I think this is now the best Thai food I've ever had. The yellow seafood curry was out of this world, couldn't stop saying how much I loved it! The crab rangoons were also delicious and the Thai iced tea was so good, I got a cup of it to go! Definitely recommend at least the foods that I had here, best I've ever had! I hope I can visit Cincinnati again in the future, specifically so I can come back and have more of their delicious food! I also easily got two meals out of my food and the waitress was super sweet and attentive!
Our first time here, we went on a Saturday night. The serving no alcohol was a surprisebut not a deal breaker. The food was fantastic, we had dumplings, soup, pad tia and even found our new favorite sushi roll, the Thai Namtip roll. It was super busy but the service was still good. We may not dine in agian (not really something we do) but we will be ordering from here agian. Soon.
By far the best crab rangoon and coconut shrimp we've ever had and the sushi, pad thai and orange chicken hit the spot! Everything was amazing! Very friendly staff and owners!
Super delicious
Best Thai food I've had in Cincinnati.
Fabulous! And.... yummy!
One of my favorite Thai places in the city. Their Pad See Ew is incredible, and I love that they put baby corn in it! I usually go for lunch because the price is so good, but when Im craving pad see ew I come here no matter what time. Highly, highly recommend.
Great service, clean and the sweet and sour pork is the best I've had in years. The price is a little more, but the food is so much better and freshly paired.
Greta place, helpful staff, tasty food!
Possibly the best pad Thai I've ever had
Excellent service, Excellent food and I can bring my own beer.
I dont know a lot about thai food, but I've tried several of their options and haven't found one that wasn't great! Would recommend.
I love this place. So much so that I have been known to eat here multiple times per week. I've had multiple items from the menu, all of them delicious. The staff is so lovely, I always have a good experience.
This IS
Have been here several times. They haven't let me down yet.
Do you want great Thai Food on the west side of Cincinnati? Well, this is the place to go. The Food is delicious, and the service is always friendly. The dcor is wonderfully Thai accented. My favorite selections are Chicken Ramrong (wonderful peanut butter sauce) and Ginger Chicken. My only suggestion would be to offer online ordering.
Delicious Thai! Great, comfortable interior.. Portions could be slighlty bigger for price, but with inflation these days, not too big a deal!
Great food and a funny and delightful server!
Everything really good.
Cater to your dietary needs and taste awesome
Excellent food, friendly staff.
Very friendly staff and neighborhood atmosphere.
First time. Lovely, low key decor. Pleasant, attentive service. Selection on menu plentiful. Dishes serviced to party of eight all delicious, fresh and well plated. Thank you to staff ...
Would be 5 stars if the Herrmanns didn't eat here.
Hands down the best Thai restaurant this side of town, and we've been to 'em all. Service is always prompt and courteous. The Tom Kha Gai is delicious.
Nice atmostphere and great food! Only reason I did not give 5 stars was because there is no baby changing table.
Never had "good" food here. It is always exceptional. Highest recommendation; 6/5 stars. Favorite Thai in the city.
A bit expensive. Great Thai food. Employees very friendly
Excellent food and service!
Friendly and good service, peaceful ambiance, and make good food to order. I like my noodles without the veggies, but I like the egg, so the server offered me extra egg. Even when mango sticky rice is out of season, she served me the sticky rice part.
Love their food! Order spice level where you want. 7 is perfect for me, and 2 is where the wife likes it.
Very good every time I have eaten there
Everything is great from all the curries to all thr noodle dishes. Had them all. Loved them all. A hidden gem of Monfort Heights
Fantastic food, always fresh and great service.
Seated and served quickly. Dinner came out quick and was fantastic!
Best coconut soup I've ever had
Eat the food often...awesome people and service!!!
We have eaten here for years and it is consistently good.
Delicious pad thai. They have a nice lunch special. Food is good and prices are reasonable.
Good food, good service. Not as spicy as I would like even at a 10/10. But it is a good place to go as an out of towner.
Quality authentic mouthwatering Thai cuisine. I give this place 5 stars.
Very good curry. Only knock is that it took a very long time for it to come out, and when they served the side sweet and sour it was only half full
Great sushi place
Very good Thai food
Best Thai in the whole city. The owner is amazing. You feel like family when you done there.
Very DELICIOUS!
One of my favorite spots to grab something to eat. great location, clean, and awesome customer service. I highly recommend them!
Always good food & friendly service.
Great and delicious food, I loved the ambience this place has, and the staff members were very friendly. Will definitely visit here next time.
This place never disappoints. They have good dishes for reasonable prices, there no long wait even when the spot is busy.
Very neat and welcoming restaurant. They offer big portions and for reasonable rates. I enjoyed the menu a lot and the waiters were very amiable and chatty. Highly recommended.
Really good food. The portions are good and I have never had any issues with my orders. My only issue is that they are slightly expensive but most definitely worth the try.
Always great food and service
Great food attentive staff
Veggie Pad Thai was good, had a sweet taste to it
Dinner was excellent. Tonight I had the yellow curry with shrimp. Service was very good too.
Great food and portions at a great price
I always stop grabbing some food in this place. I enjoyed the efficient service and well made dishes. Kudos.
First time trying it. Got food to go so cannot speak of service but the curry was amazing and I'm super picky. The papaya salad was very good too.
Great food!
food is amazing and the staff is so friendly. I live a while a way but anytime my family or I get close to that part of town we stop by and usually load up so we have left overs.
Great food
There fried rice is very addicting can't stop eating.
Great sushi
pad see ewe is delicious! also the hot and sour soup is amazing
Great food, awesome lunch specials, kind staff
My favorite Thai place in town. Great portions. Excellent food.
Great food and wonderful service. Mamm is a wonderful person always happy. The Larb gui is unbelievable always order it 10+ on the heat and they never let me down . The sushi is very good too.
Excellent pad thai. Scott the lawn guy agrees.
Great food.
First time here but it wont be the last.
The authentic flavors and wonderful customer service are just a few of the high points.
This place is delicious and one of my family's favorites. We have loved every dish we have tried, so flavorful and fresh. I especially love the panang curry. Love the desserts too, the fried banana and rice pudding.
Food was delicious as usual. Waitress was very friendly and attentive
Thai food here - very tasty. the service here is great. this place has a great design.
Great Thai food. Friendly people. Have always had a good experience whether eat in or take out.
It was the best Food.is great
They have great lunch specials
Excellent service! Food was very good.
Thai food and the setting here is quality. Arrived at six, it was not packed. Certainly worth a return trip. This place has a nice feel to it.
Very good and friendly
Try the coconut soup. Sooo good
Delicious.
I am there at least once a week great service and food
Their food is Delicious!! I love their vegetarian options and fried rice! I really love their restaurant! Their staff is really sweet as well!
Love it
Love this little gem!! Always fresh and reasonably priced!
Hidden local gem - great fresh Thai and sushi too. Was Patrick's first experience with Thai food, got him hooked.
Delicious Chicken Pad Thai! Not easy to find on the West side. We'll be back!!
Try the coconut soup. Sooo good

Best Thai food in Cincinnati, hands down. I live about 5 minutes away and have eaten here (and have gotten carry-out) many times. Everything is always fresh and flavorful and they have the best Panang curry I've ever had. Not to mention they are incredibly kind people. We like the curries and the Pad Se Ew/Pad Thai, but the sushi is also very tasty. If you are craving Thai food, this is the place to go!
Great food, really awesome staff and some great gluten free options. The staff seem really concerned with ensuring food is what you need it to be and our waitress knew right away if things were GF safe
Red curry spice level 6 was very good. Pad Thai spice level 5 was good. A tad bit pricey for what you get; service was okay. Atmosphere was pretty cool though.
This is my favorite Thai restaurant in the Cincinnati area (and yes, I've been to Lemongrass). Everything I order always has so much flavor, even despite the fact that I usually get a low level of spice. My go-to choices are the Pad See Ewe and the Massaman Curry. Usually I have such a hard time deciding that I just get both. The amount of food you get for the price makes it worth it as I usually have leftovers. I've also tried the Southern Style Fried Rice and Drunken Noodles. I really have never been disappointed with any dish here.
The food is great. Next time I go I will try out heat level #7.
I bought the sweet and sour chicken. It is different from what you will find in in a Chinese restaurant.
Thai food is all about the heat.
How high can you go?
Overall a good experience. One suggestion I would make is to stick to the Thai dishes. The only thing we were disappointed in was the sushi. Past that everything else was great and flavorful.
Absolutely the best Thai food! The vegetable spring rolls with the house sweet sauce they offer is amazing! I definitely recommend this little gem!
Awesome Thai food! Very flavorful, spicy if you want it and you can taste all the myriad spice flavors that combined are wonderful. Plus, they can make almost all their dishes gluten free for those who are Celiac sensitive. And easy to get to, right off I74 in monfort heights!
Great food at reasonable pricing! We go there often, BYOB welcome, fast service, and consistent good food!
Enjoyed the food at this authentic Thai restaurant. The food came out quickly. We ordered the Pad Thai, Panang curry and Masaman curry. They ask you for the heat level from 1-10. We ordered a level 4 which was enough heat for us as we didn't want to start burning. The food is delicious. I loved the Masaman as I like the creaminesd of the coconut milk. My daughter and cousin liked the Panang more. We had to take it home as it was a good amount of food.
We had the Thai tea which had too much ice. I ordered the sticky rice and mango. Presentation could've been better. I wish it had more coconut milk and the sesame on top to give it a crunch as I've had it at other restaurants.
Overall good food. The service is very good and the location looks nice.
The best Thai food I've had in cincinnati... their service and quality is consistent each time I eat there.
always amazing, quick service with high quality food. one of my favorite restaurants!!
I work in the area but don't live here. I am happy I finally found a great Thai place I can go to for lunch. Ordered take out Pad Thai and Crab Rangoon. So good! Very friendly and clean restaurant! The prices are great and I also got a free spring roll with my order
Thai Namtip is one of my favorite restaurants in Cincinnati, so a review is long overdue. If you're a big fan of Thai cuisine, or if you're simply in the mood for something different, I strongly encourage you to drop in. (They also have sushi, if that's your favorite thing.)
My favorite dishes are the Orange Chicken and Chicken Pad Thai. However, one of these days, I'm going to break out of my routine and order the Thai Namtip Fried Rice. If you're also in the mood for a starter, try the Spring Rolls, Potstickers, or the Crab Ragoon. The potstickers are my husband's favorite. I love them all.
The location is convenient, the staff is always friendly, and the service amazingly quick. (In fact, they often recognize me and even recall my "usual." I can't help it. The Pad Thai is fabulous.)
Is your mouth watering yet? Stop in and treat yourself. Bon appetit!
Very pleasant server and food arrived very quickly. Seemed to pretty fresh as well. Only complaint is that the vegetable soup is kinda disappointing.
I go for the Thai Namtip sushi roll. It's great! The other food is good, too. Not the best, but a solid choice.
I absolutely love the fried rice! I love that you can choose the spice level. : ) Always great service!
This was my first visit. I cane with my 4 year old. The service was fast, professional and the food was delicious! I order the Nam Tip Rolls and Tofu Pad Thai!
So very good everything is made fresh and I was really surprised at how great the food tasted and even though I don't like sushi I did try the spicy shrimp roll and it was very good would definitely come again and recommend this place
Do try their specials!! A great place for vegetarians as well.. their Tofu is the best I've had. Don't miss the Kao soi!!
Love that place. Clean, good service and the food is fresh, crisp, seasoned just right. Great variety of Thai dishes, a winner.
Had a nice first experience at Thai Namtip! Overall the food was very good. I enjoyed my Basil Goong Goi which had shrimp and chicken. The flavors were great and just enough spice. The sushi was decent for ordering more typical rolls. I would be interested to see what their specialty rolls are like in the future. The waitresses were very attentive and friendly and food was served in a timely manner. I would return here in the future to try a new meal!
Ate here with my boyfriend for the first time a few days ago. It seems to be a little more geared toward take-out, at least late on a Friday evening, and the service was a little slow at first, but it was worth the wait. Everything we ordered was delicious and fresh. We started with the satay for appetizer. The chicken was flavorful and clean, but the superstar of the dish is the peanut sauce. I want that sauce on almost everything... I got the chili fried rice with chicken for dinner, level 5 spicy. Next time I'll probably go for a 7, but it was still delicious. The chicken was good, the veggies were fresh, and the rice was cooked perfectly. My boyfriend got the basil stir-fry with beef. I got to try a mushroom from his dish and it was really, really good. The portion sizes are generous and I thought it was well worth the price. Will definitely come here again, probably for takeout next time.
I absolutely loved the pad Thai here, it's the best I've ever had. I've been dying to get more ever since I had the opportunity to try it with my friend but it's very far away from where I live. I was devastated to find that grubhub, doordash, & uber eats all refuse to deliver to me because of the distance between the restaurant & my home.
The staff was very polite & always within sight of the table if we were ever in need of something-- it's nice to see this when at many other restaurants it seems like your server is always hiding in the back somewhere.
I can't wait to have a chance to eat here again!
Great Thai food. Pad See Ew has a great grilled flavor. Spring rolls are excellent. Will definitely come back. They don't serve alcohol, no biggie. Service is also top notch!
I really enjoy this restaurant. My daughter was recently in town for Thanksgiving and this has been one of her favorites as long as she lived in Cincinnati. It is a small and charming storefront in a plaza. The space is clean and the decor is authentic. If the food were not so good I would almost call it fast food because it is prepared so quickly. We are always greeted by very friendly server. This place is does not serve alcohol but you can BYOB and pay a corkage fee. One of my favorites is the coconut chicken soup. The flavors are just amazing. My daughter loves the crab rangoons and the selection of sushi is varied. The server always asks what level of heat you want in your Thai dishes so you know it is always made fresh. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys sushi or Thai food.
Best Tom Yum in Cincinnati. I recommend the chicken and vegetable w/ cabbage level 4 spice.
Entrees were very good. Didn't care too much for the appetizer. Service was good.
Fantastic food. Great service. My favorite is Chicken Ramrong. Their soups are amazing.
Wonderful food I went at the urging of my son He is more adventurous than I I was very pleasantly surprised You can get your food as spicy or mild as you want it
The pot stickers are delicious and the golden chicken special was exceptionally tasty. Select the level of spicy hot. Number two was good without making my mouth burn. Portion size is enough for two meals.
Food tasted like its prepared rather than just cooked. I'm going back to try more. I know why now I see so many going to this place
I went with my roommate for lunch. Don't let the unassuming storefront in a strip mall fool you. The food was delicious, and for a little over 20 dollars for the two of us after the tip, we were very pleased. I had the Pad See Ewe, which was a simple noodle dish with beef and vegetables, but even that was nice and flavorful, for a safe intro to Thai food for me. I'll definitely be back to try their other fare.
Great local place. Food is delicious and served quickly.
Lovely n excellent food with great service. Happy to have a visit here.
A good place for pad Thai. It's authentic tasting and is pretty affordable. The menu isn't too complicated to understand. It has all the main Thai classics. The service is very fast.
I had the pad Thai and tofu. It's about $7 for the lunch portion. This is plenty enough for most people, with al the noodles filling them up. A lot of dishes ask you to choose a protein. The pad Thai comes with several choices, including beef, chicken, and tofu. It can be made vegan by not having the eggs. The service was fast, but they never refilled water. It was the only bad part of the meal. The food was spicy but not horribly so.
I really enjoyed the food. It came out fast and tasted fresh. They get the food right, now they have to refill the drinks and water.
Excellent Thai food, my favorite in Cincinnati. Ramrong chicken and Panang curry are highlights
A group of us visited this place for the first time and the experience was exhilarating! The food was very fresh and delicious! The staff/wait servers were prompt in bringing our food hot and as ordered! The manager Mim was very welcoming and gracious! Although, most of us were from out of town, our native Ohioans will be returning often and we will when we visit Cincinnati again! Bonus; you get to bring in your own wine ( for a small fee)! It is an awesome place to meet and eat! It's worth the 5 stars and more!
Love this place. The Bangkok Basil Salmon is wonderful. A must try.
First time at this restaurant and having Thai food. We got the sampler appetizer and crab rangoon. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Staff was friendly. Food came out quick.
Had the chicken pad Thai and some appetizers. It was good. The service was quick as well.
If you're looking for great Thai food, this place is amazing
I actually haven't been here in quite a while, but it's still my current favorite Thai place in Cincinnati (unfortunately, my old favorite closed down). Their dishes are delicious.. I usually go for the Pad Thai, and it's perfect and they're great about making things spicy if you want them that way. They've also got great Thai Coffee!
I don't have a lot of options for Thai cuisine in my area so this place gets bonus points. It's quick and on point. Best of all, just around the corner from my sister's for that Thanksgiving visit pregame. Sushi is fantastic. Pad Thai at a two was flavorful with a little tickle of heat.
Best food ever
Thai namtip is one of the best places I have ever eaten at. the prices are reasonable and the staff very friendly. I would highly recommend it.
Thai Namtip
Thai Namtip is one of the best places that I have ever eaten at and the servace is great!
Great food!
Great food and a great value for the price. This resturant has a pleasent casual atmostphere with great waitress. I suggest you check out the Thai Namtip.
Not all that impressed. I guess this type of food isn't really my cup of tea. Skyline is right across the street.
Exceptional service. Coconut lime soup was excellent. Fountain soda was the right mix of syrup and carbonated water. Restaurant was clean, entrees were delicious.
Really good thai, overall. Their pad thai is a bit wetter than I normally like, and they make it too sweet, but their chili paste fried rice makes up for it. I suggest the rice dishes over the noodle dishes, in general here.
Sushi is good as well, but inconsistent. I've had rolls that were perfect, and some that had pieces that were not as well formed. Still quite tasty, though.
Appetizers are really good as well. Even though they stopped making the chicken spring rolls (sadly), their Singapore Toast is a wonderful replacement.
This is the best Thai place on the west side, hands down. If you're in the Westwood/Cheviot area, *this* is where you should go for Thai.
This place has the best sticky rice and mango I have had to date. Save room after your dinner for this incredibly different dessert! The staff is also very friendly here.
Great Thai! Some of the best in the city. Very constant heat levels. Pad See Ew is awesome. Thai Namtip salad with warm ginger dressing I worth the $5. Very affordable and quick service. Sushi is not too great, but a nice selection to add to a great meal. Awesome Thai restaurant in a neighborhood you wouldn't expect.
Nam Tip is an interesting island in a sea of sameness. It's nice to find a neighborhood Thai restaurant in Cincinnati and it's more on par with places I've been in the San Francisco neighborhoods.
I've been to Nam Tip about five times now, and any dishes I've ordered have been good. At spice-level 5, dishes are well within tolerable limits if you are accustomed to spicy food. The ingredients were very fresh each time. Sometimes I like to make a meal out of different appetizers, and Thai food lends itself to that, on occasion. The Thai iced coffee is very good here. The service is usually very good and friendly, too.
The food at Thai Namtip is very good and the service is consistently excellent. The staff is very friendly and attentive and prices are very reasonable.
This place does not look like much from the outside, but take a chance and step inside to the elegance, tranquility, and deliciousness that awaits. The service gains an A+. The wait staff were the friendliest I have ever encountered. They were knowledgeable about the food and very pleasant to speak with. We were seated promptly. No wait. The menu is extensive but descriptive. We had the golden bags for an appetizer. Did not realize how spicy one of the sauces was, what a surprise. I ordered the Pad Thai. Was delicious and a huge serving, could have fed two people. I ordered a level 2 spice. Was just spicey enough! My husband and I cannot find a single flaw and will return.
BYOB, which is great. Great sushi and great curries. Thom yum isn't the best because it is not so authentic.
But overall with the BYOB and great food definitely worth a night out!
Thai Nam Tip is located on the west side of Cincinnati where almost everyone wants (on a scale of 1-10) a hotness of zero. I suspect that is what effects their spicing. I took a west side neighbor to Thai Nam Tip. She almost died with a hotness of "1." She was ready to send the meal back to the kitchen. This could have been psychological - is there even ANY spice in a one-rating? This is still what the owners have to contend with. I have found, at least in Cincinnati, that if you ask for hot oil or Red Rooster chili sauce, most oriental restaurants (Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese) will provide it. Then you can add more heat to whatever level of heat you have requested. You can also talk to one of the owners of Thai Nam Tip, who is an American. In the evening, he is often at the cash register. Explain to him you really DO want hot food. I've found this combination helps increase the spice in their dishes. I have been going to this restaurant for more than 10 years. The current owners had just taken over when I first became a patron. I never expected them to be able to continue in business, given they have no liquor license and are an "exotic" restaurant located on the west side. Their food varies, depending on who is their present cook, but I'd give them a consistent "4 stars."
I stop by here once a month or so for lunch. I always seem to get the same thing, Southern Style fried Rice with Tofu. Always good. I call ahead and pick it up to go. Everyone there is very nice. I am so glad Thai namtip is there when I need my Thai fix.
I really like food. My fb friends often complain to me in real life that all I seem to post is pictures of food. I really, really like Thai food. Every time I visit a new city for more than a day or two, I check yelp and other sources to see what the "best thai" in town is and see for myself. I have had some truly beautiful meals this way (the basil threads closing Boston's 9 Tastes Thai's golden bags come immediately to mind), but Thai Namtip stands right there with the best.
The wife and I had carryout dinner from here again tonight. It's on her way home from work, but still more than 30 minutes from our place in the sticks. Through some sort of magic I don't yet understand, their food is still crisp and hot even after such a long trek - even the fried golden bags are crunchy and flavorsome.
All I could think about tonight while eating Chicken Massaman Curry (at a 9.8) and stealing bites of the wife's Chicken Ramrong (at a 7) was - how is Thai Namtip so underrated on yelp? Every time I eat their food my palate is awakened and stimulated - it's a consistent and constant revelation. There is a thai place closer to us, but I would honestly rather drive the extra 15-20 minutes (each way) to get Thai Namtip or just come up with another option, as it just can't compare. I have been to Namtip at all hours, for lunch, dinner, just before closing - I haven't encountered a single "miss" - it's been stellar all the way. I even ate the wife's leftover yellow curry last week, and it had tofu in it. Yuck, but also amazing yum.
All I can say is this: don't believe the haters this time. It pains me to say this, as my love of food is a close second to my love of hating on things, but Thai Namtip is a special place. Buy a gallon of paint next door and get a great meal in one of the oddest locations I have ever had such a special meal.
I had the drunken Pad Thai with the heat of 9. It was a little spicy but not what I would have expected at a Thai restaurant. I thought it had a good taste but I really liked the hot and sour soup. I've haven't had a bad meal here and I keep forgetting about this place but I will be back for more in 2014.
Stop by for carry out sushi all the time. It's quick , fresh and always consistent. The staff is very friendly and will answer any questions if your looking to try something different. I recently started stopping by for lunch they do a great bento box for a good price. For a restraunt in a little strip center you will be pleasantly surprised.
Hidden gem!!!! Love the atmosphere. I had the yellow curry with a spice level of a 5 (exactly what I would expect out of a 5), which was amazing. The thai iced tea was also really good. The service was excellent and reasonably priced. Its bring your own bottle beer/wine.
my wife occasionally gets a hankering for thai food. since we moved to college hill 8 months ago we have eaten here about six times. had there sushi last night for the first time and it was excellent.
The Pad thai is as good as any place in the city the servers are all wonderful. I eat lunch here almost every Friday. Don't let the strip mall throw you off. This places is Great!
Thai Namtip is one of the best local Thai places. The food is delish. I'd say my roomie and I eat there about 3 times a month at least, sometimes once a week when we can afford it (or when we can't, but the sushi or noodles call us back anyway). We've been loyal customers since a few months after they opened.
Our favorites are: Seafood Clay Pot, Potstickers (the sauce is sweeter than other places, but habit forming), Pork Chao Praya (savory pork & crisp broccoli in a black pepper sauce), Broccoli Stir Fry (a lighter dish--best with shrimp!), Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles)--the Banana Spring Rolls are a pretty good way to end a meal, assuming you still have room! Dinner portions are generous.
My roomie loves the Thai Tea & Chicken Ramrong for its sweet, peanutty goodness.
I like a little spice, so I usually go with a 3. The spice level is hit or miss. Sometimes 3 is a bit too hot, but the scale is probably on a chef by chef basis. Best practice is to order lower on the scale and ask for the crushed pepper flakes on the side for self-spicing. :D
Lunch specials are the best deal at 5.95 (or 6.95 with shrimp) from 11-3 on week days.
My only real criticism is that the Pad Thai, my sometime-favorite dish, is sometimes brilliantly delicious, and others watery or simply bland. (For this reason, I've stopped ordering it.) I'm not sure why, but it seems that sometimes the noodles are soaked too long, and don't take up the flavor of the sauce, which also varies. Sometimes it's rich and spicy, others too sweet.
The sushi is delicious. They're willing to substitute out ingredients if asked, no hassle. The rice is a little sweeter than some places, but I like that about it. The Maguro is made of yum.
The staff is friendly and attentive & the atmosphere is relaxed. The decor is balanced and lovely. You'd never know it used to be a diner style Skyline Chili unless you've lived on the West Side as long as I have. :D
Parking is plentiful. As other posters have said, don't judge this place based on its location inside a strip mall. It's a gem on this side of town.
The reason this is a 4 instead of a 5 is that the pad thai varies in taste quite widely between visits, and sometimes the noodles are too sweet OR don't pick up the flavor of the dish (possibly over-soaked?). The soups I've tried are rather bland.
The service is prompt. The food is great. Everything we ordered seemed fresh and handmade. I want to go back soon!
Sis and i have been to most every Thai place in town, especially the ones with sushi, and were surprised to find one on the West side where we live that we hadn't tried. We at there today and I'm a little torn between a three and four star review. We both got the appetizer sampler, which was all fried food that mostly tasted like egg rolls from a mediocre chinese place. Our sushi was good, but our entrees were just OK. For the West side Thai Taste is a better bet, also Lin's Pad Thai, and the East side has Green Papaya and Mango Tree, then the route to Florence has Mai Thai and Sweet Basil. All of these places have better food, in some cases much better.
Best food I have ever had. The make all the sauces in house. It's a little pricey but portions are big. I love all the tofu dishes. If they delivered I would be in big trouble! Love this place and service is always friendly.
From the outside, it doesn't look like much. This restaurant is quite the contrary. The service was amazing. The waitress regularly checked on us and would get us refills. The food was also quite good
Excellent food and very very friendly staff I wish they take amex but i know ex charges a lot more to businesses than other credit cards so I understand.
I never seen friendlier staff in a restaurant than here.
Sushi is excellent, Thai food is excellent, portions are great.. - THEY HAVE BROWN RICE! They will be happy to do sushi with brown rice if you like.
Unbelievably good tasting food. Chicken coconut soup is the best! Their house salad dressing is also very good as it has a taste of peanut butter in it. We shared the chicken ramrong with only a spicy level of 3 (out of 10).
Yummy! Great Thai food. Glad I found this hidden gem. I mostly get take out and it's been fabulous.
We have eaten here a few times now and each time the food has been very delightful, the service is really good and the price is a little up there, but not outrageous.
I see that many of their downgrades are for the lack of heat, but while their food is not raging hot, it is spicy and certainly not bland.
Certainly a good choice for something a little different if you want good quality.
So very good, and love being able to bring our own wine. Food delicious, dress casual and staff excellent and very friendly!
Love this place! I have never had a bad thing here. The pad Thai is good and the pad lee Mao is flavorful. The only thing is if you like hot and spicy you might be disappointed. My husband gets a 10/10 spice level every time.
Of the Thai places in the city, Namtip seems to have one of the more elegant atmospheres and extensive menus.
Namtip is a great stop for both Thai and Sushi. This restaurant is situated in a plaza along North Bend Road, but upon entering you will no longer think about cell and pager stores, but instead be whisked away to southeast Asia.
My date enjoyed the tofu enough that she ate her entire meal. I enjoyed the Broccoli Stir-fry with Chicken, which had some delicious veggies sprinkled throughout. A large bowl of white rice came on the side. The meals were not the biggest portions I've seen, which is fine by me. For dessert, my date and I had a fried banana with ice cream that was slathered in chocolate and sprinkled with coconut shavings. Of note, I normally despise coconut shavings, but I worked around them and found this to be an EXCELLENT dessert. You must try it.
I didn't realize that there were some good specials and lunch deals until after I ordered my meal. Try the Bento Box Special, which gives you your choice of Stir-Fry, four pieces of sushi, and a spring roll or soup of the day- all for $7-8.
Overall, I'd say the Thai food is on par with most others, though it could certainly stand to be more spicy. I ordered a 5 of 10 and could barely feel it. If you're looking for Thai in the area this is definitely a good option.
If you are in the mood for good authentic Thai food this is your place.
I actually come here for their sushi as well, but that is usually take out. This place is located in a strip mall so it likely not the first choice of many that drive by. That's why I love Yelp though. I know it doesn't have a great exterior, but once you step inside the food will keep you coming back. In addition, I've always had great service at this place when I've dined in.
My favorite items I've had include the Pad Thai and the Pad Kee Mao. The sushi is fantastic as well. I've always had good success with the Florida roll, Super Crunch roll, and the Emerald roll.
If you are on the west side, I suggest you make a stop at this place.
So so so delicious!!! The chicken drunkin noodles are to die for, and the spring rolls are homemade, easily the best I've ever had! Every time I have been in there, they were making something different homemade. I've watched them stuff spring rolls, cracking crab legs, and rolling fresh sushi!
But please, if you are ordering take out.. Ask for plastic containers. They generally use styrofoam, and because their food is so hot and fresh, it tends to melt the styrofoam. Making your delicious food taste like melted plastic! But definitely eat here!!!
I wish they delivered!
Great Thai food on the west side! If you're looking for gluten free Thai food, the staff is very helpful in pointing to safe menu items.
The spice level is sometimes a bit inconsistent. I ordered a carry-out item at spice level 3 and it was way way way too hot for me. I might have sent it back if I was dining in.
Don't let the setting in a faded little strip mall fool you: The Thai food here is great, on par with any I've had in the 'nati and probably the best southeast Asian fare on the west side of town (though there aren't a ton of contenders for the honor). The duck dishes are a particularly nice surprise. The sushi is OK, but nothing special.
All I can saw is WOW!!!! This was my first meal here and my first Thai experience!!!!
Had the Chicken Fried Rice - level 5...
It was fantastic....
Service was very good and the food quality was great....
Dine in or carry out.... It's a great choice
This is my 3rd time back since my initial review. The experience the last 2 times have been excellent. The last time I was here I was with my wife, 2 kids, parents, parents in-law, and bro in-law. Everyone enjoyed their food. My chicken pad thai was very flavorful both times. My son who is a very picky eater has loved his food each time. He had Wonton soup and potstickers.
My wife enjoyed sweet sour chicken and thought spicy tuna roll was very fresh. My daughter killed the edamame. I will definitely be back again with the family. Service was excellent as well.
My favorite place for Thai in Cincinnati! I suggest the southern stir fry, sweet and sour shrimp soup! Sushi is good too.
Abby and I went here before a show downtown and were very pleasantly surprised. The decor is typical asian-american cuisine decor. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Abby started with the shrimp hot and sour soup, which she really liked (she said it had good heat). I started with the crab rangoon, which was good, but had a little sweet note to it.
For our entrees, Abby got the seared basil duck, which she really liked. It had lots of veggies and a reasonable amount of duck that was tender and juicy (they slow cook the duck in house). I had the broccoli beef stir-fry. It was very tasty. The broccoli and carrots were still pretty crunchy which is how I like them. The beef was tender and a little fatty, but not too bad.
No alcohol, but the waitress told the table behind us that they could bring their own.
Prices were very reasonable. Service was fast and efficient.
We'll definitely be coming back here!
My husband and I have been here before - it's the closest place to get thai and sushi. Service is always great.
We ordered a couple rolls of sushi this time around - super crunch roll and the j.b. roll. I love the super crunch roll but quickly remembered, after my first bite of the j.b. roll that I don't like cream cheese in sushi. My fault!
I wasn't in the mood for curry so I got an order of crab Rangoon to go with my sushi starters. Loved the super thin and crispy wrappers! And the sauce was perfect.
My son tried some pot stickers - he's a picky eater but gobbled them up.
My husband ordered the thai namtip curry (9) and loved it.
This is definitely a cuisine that I have to be in the mood for but I always enjoy it when I am!
I never know how to order the heat level at a Thai restaurant. This was no exception.
We had a visitor who likes Thai food. We had a good previous experience here before and it's close to our neighborhood, so we thought, "Why not?" Once again, we had fantastic friendly service and lots of good food. I was sure I'd be taking some of my delicious orange chicken home with me, but it was just too good to stop eating. Yep. I get a gold star and a membership to the clean plate club. I couldn't help myself.
The Thai iced tea was also excellent with just the right amount of sweetness and herby tea flavor. It's almost an appetizer. Our guest had a pad Thai that was as big as her head. She took more than half home for a succulent leftover meal (or two) later.
But here's the thing--and it's the only thing that prevents Thai Namtip from getting five full stars from me. I like spicy food, but I've been to restaurants where ordering spice level 5 out of ten can burn the stomach lining right out of your stomach. At a previous visit of a different Thai restaurant, a friend ordered a 7 and I ordered a 3. My 3 was actually hotter than her 7. Since then I've been a little skittish.
So, this particular evening at Thai Namtip, I ordered my orange chicken at a spice level of 3 our of 10. Nothing. The food was still good and flavorful, but I got no heat whatsoever. I mean, I know, leverl 3 is low, but it's higher than one and two. What can those possibly taste like if 3 has no spiciness? I don't know exactly how Thai chefs quantify their spice levels, but I'm pretty sure they can do better than that.
But hey, it's still 4 stars. I shall return, order a 4 and cross my fingers.
Thai Namtip is always solid.
There aren't that many options for Thai on that side of town.
I recently visited Thai Namtip again after a hiatus of a few years. This round I visited with my aunt and uncle while I was in town and, as always truly enjoyed the experience.
As usual I ordered a Thai Iced Tea, a sort-of spice blend mixed with powdered milk or coconut milk and cream. Always delicious, but Thai Namtip has one of the better blends in town.
I ordered a mixed meat entree called the Namtip Trio with white rice. At some places you'll find the sauces thick and overbearing... preventing the flavors of the meats and vegetables from shining through... but not at Thai Namtip. Their house sauce is brilliant, and so was this dish!
I also ordered a Tamago sushi nigiri which was slightly dry, but very flavorful. I'd certainly get it again.
As a group we split a warm pumpkin custard dessert and a warm black-rice pudding which were both unbelievable.
I'll be back again soon. Maybe I'll even make the trek out just for desserts!
Best Thai restaurant in CINCY!!! Owner MaM and Gordan hospitality is 5 STARS. PAD THAI chicken incredible and Thai ice tea sensational. Beef soup was very flavorful and aphrodisiac, like addicting and yummmy. Come here for great SUSHI !!! Come see this Beautiful waitress name TOEY!!!
I only started eating here last year. I was a boring bland eater with anxiety about food I didn't know. Then I met Thai Namtip! My daughter introduced me to drunken noodles which I love but I recently tried other dishes and everyone of them have been amazing. Thai basil is my new favorite flavor now. Thai Namtip is my favorite restaurant anywhere. I can't get food this fresh, natural and flavorful anywhere else for the same price. The dining room is relaxing and the waiters are always helpful and pleasant.
We net friends here for dinner. Each of us had something different. Every dish was prepared perfectly. The food came out fast and tasted great.
Service was exemplary.
Amazing pad thai! The flavor was amazing. I could not even describe how good it was. You're able to choose spice level 1-10 so no worries if you're spice sensitive or can't get enough of it. The chicken was tender; the noodles were perfectly cooked. It was amazing. Highly recommend if you're in the area!!!
This restaurant never disappoints. It's one of the only non chain restaurants near my house so it's a go to when we don't mind spending about more. My husband would eat their spider rolls every day. Their sushi always tastes fresh and is made to order. I go between the pad Thai, chicken fried rice and the cashew chicken. All are exceptional and can be modified to my liking. For appetizers their chicken satay and their spring rolls are amazing as is the sauces they are served with. They know my husbands order by heart and will say "Hello Matt" when they realize that it's us who are ordering.
The restaurant is really cute on the inside. The service was excellent and the food was incredible! I would recommend this place to anyone!
I have eaten Thai from NYC to San Francisco and even a time or two in Manila, so I understand that the cuisine, like most others, has regional differences depending on where in Thailand the chef learned to cook. I know that the menu is often skewed toward local American diners' tastes as well. I take all of this into consideration before I pass along my take on a particular restaurant's menu. I can say that since moving to the Cincinnati area 12 years ago, this is the first time I have uttered the words, "We'll be back." I'm not sure who or what other diners were eating that complained about lack of heat or too much sweetness, but I have a hard time seeing that in Thai Namtip's food.
Today, we ordered soft crab with ponzu as an appetizer. I grew up on the Chesapeake Bay and have actually watched the pens for shedders, so when I tell you these soft crabs were fresh and fat, full of sweet, meaty goodness, you better believe it is not praise easily won. The crispy, light coating was perfect and adhered to the crab, which is a trick few ever master. The ponzu was balanced, neither salty, tart or sweet, but a combo that complimented the crab in all the right ways.
We also shared the chicken ramrong which was a delight. Vegetables were obviously fresh and crunchy as they should be, not overcooked and limp. The peanut sauce must have been homemade as we could taste the ingredients and it clung to chicken, vegetables and rice without overpowering them. It had surprising heat for a 3, but my husband supplemented with pepper oil, which was amazing. Thin, tender slices of chicken sealed the deal.
Last on the savory side was the Choo Chee Duck. I must confess to being both a duck and pineapple lover---and snob. Nothing will make me put down my chopsticks faster than tough bird or stringy pineapple. No fear as both were delicious-- and the broth? I could have almost drank from the bowl.
The hardest part was having to put down our forks and take the leftovers home. Quick thinking on the part of my husband supplemented the take-home with black rice pudding and mango in sweet rice. I can't comment on either, as we're saving them for my birthday breakfast tomorrow.
I cannot leave a review without commenting on the service, which was quick, attentive and friendly. To be honest, I feel as if we came away having made a new friend in our waitress, Toye, who, as it turns out, lives quite near to us. We loved our food and our experience, in no small part due to her input. All in all, a wonderful meal and one that goes on my list of great examples of Thai food, right up there with Pam Real Thai in NYC's Hell's Kitchen. That translates as DAMNED GOOD THAI in my book.
All the food we had was very good! I had pad Thai, daughter had spicy shrimp roll, and husband and son had koa soi. For dessert we shared sticky rice with mango, black rice pudding, and bananas wrapped in wontons with ice cream. We were stuffed! The waitstaff was very attentive and sweet!
Our favorite place to get delicious Thai carry out. Vegetables are always cooked just right and not too mushy.
Recently, I've had spicy shrimp roll, and drunken noodle chicken. Both were delicious!!!
In the past, I've had the garlic stir fry chicken. It was okay, but I've had better. I wouldn't order it again. My husband ordered chicken fried rice- twice in a row- I'd say that he really enjoyed that.
I liked the coziness of the restaurant and it's proximity to my home. Seems dated but clean.
This place is the best. I love getting the Pad Thai and mango with coconut sticky rice. The service is great and they are always nice. Keep up the great work!!
Their phad thai yummm I don't know how they cooked it but wherever I go in different thai restaurant thai namtip has the best pad thai ever!! Their curry is the best here too!! Soups also very tasty!!
I love ordering takeout from this Westside gem about once a month. Inside is great for a date night, and the prices are great. Sushi here is really good, as is the fried rice.
This was probably one of the best Thai food experiences I have had in Cincinnati in a long time. Our waitress, Nim, was attentive, fast, and was taking care of 5 tables, answering the phone, to-go orders and running food from the kitchen as well! I wanted to order their basil fish as I have had it before but Nim suggested I try a different one and I was super elated to try the change!! It was excellent. She even took extra time to talk to my son and make sure he was happy! 5 stars!
My aunt lived in Thailand in the 70's so I have eaten authentic curry since I was a kid. This place prepares their curry just like I remember. They also have different types that I never tried in the past but are now a big fan of. The other great thing is that they offer brown rice, which I prefer. I don't like that they charge extra for it though.
I have also enjoyed their sushi but it is not their specialty.
The menu has a lot of variety so there are many things to choose from. The cc salad is one of my favorites. It's one of our regular take out places.
My chiropractor recommended this place a few months back when I mentioned my love for Pad Thai.
I ordered the Vegtable Pad Thai which came with hot and sour soup. The hot and sour soup was some of the best I've ever tasted and the Pad Thai was perfect at a level 6 of flavor. The soup was hot and consisted of mushrooms and other warm spices. The Pad Thai consisted of rice noodles, garlic, cilantro, scallions, eggs, peanuts and bean sprouts. Yum!
I went here for lunch and this place has quicker service than Jimmy Johns. I ordered and my food was out within 5 minutes. If you are in a rush and want excellent quality visit this place!
Best Thai food on the West Side. We dine here regularly. Sushi is very good as well. Always quick and service is good.
Thai Namtip is my favorite Thai place in Cincinnati so far. I highly recommend the (vegetarian-friendly!) tofu ramrong. The peanut sauce on that dish is really stellar. I suspect meat eaters would be just as happy with the chicken ramrong. I don't think their green curry is quite up to the high bar set by the tofu ramrong, but it's fine (I've had some exceptional green curry while at university, so I'm a bit picky).
This is an unassuming restaurant in a strip mall next to a pet store and a mobile phone store. Though it doesn't look like much, the chef excels.
The food was authentic Thai and the service was excellent. I having been craving them since last Sunday so it's only been 5 days. I love them. Oh yeah and the guests dining in were very friendly. I met a couple that has been going there at least 5 years
Love this place. Great food, reasonable prices.
Note that they're very gentle with the heat... when they ask how spicy you want it, know that a "5" here is certainly nothing like a "5" on the coast. I don't particularly love super-spicy food, but I consider a 6 to be the minimum here, and a 7 is pretty safe.
